A Glimpse Into the Future

Sunday, March 18th at 3:00 p.m.

Can you spot the emerging opera stars? Milton Community Concerts presents a rare opportunity to hear up-and-coming opera talent in a concert of opera scenes, arias, and musical theater favorites featuring graduate-level opera students from the New England Conservatory of Music. This concert, which is NEC Opera’s only performance outside of Boston this year, will take place on Sunday, March 18th at 3pm at First Parish of Milton (535 Canton Avenue).

The opera training program at NEC is one of the top in the country for young opera singers, who come to Boston from all over the world to study. A number of NEC singers have gone on to sing in major opera houses around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera at Covent Garden in London. Under the leadership of director Joshua Major, the program offers vigorous and intensive training in the areas of singing, acting, dance, stage combat, diction, and stage deportment. Students work closely with vocal coaches and stage directors as they hone their craft and prepare for the ultra-competitive career of an opera singer.

This year’s concert features: David Rivera Bozon, tenor; Grant Braider, baritone; Christon Carney, tenor; Rush Dorsett, soprano; Saori Erickson, soprano; Kristen Murdaugh, mezzo-soprano;

Ana Mora, mezzo-soprano; Jordan Oram, soprano; and Emily Uddenberg, soprano.

Tickets for the March 18th concert (available at the door only) will be $20 general admission, $10 for seniors 65+, and FREE to 18 and under. Ample free parking is available. Wheelchair accessible. Milton Community Concerts is supported in part by a grant from the Milton Cultural Council.
